£8 Billion to the UK Treasury

In only 9 months –

And Counting.

Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce

The Treasury has banked a bumper £8billion windfall from the North Sea in just nine months, according to new research.

“Figures published by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce today reveal that offshore operators and licensees have been paying an average of £45.6million in tax per day during the third quarter of the year.

“The UK Government’s tax-take from the sector so far in 2022 is up nearly 700% on last year, following the introduction of a windfall tax in May.”

How much of this is invested in Scotland?

How much of the new renewables energy from Scotland is invested here?

We know the answer.

We all know the answer.
